You can view and download samples from our website. However, you may want to obtain printed copies. If so, you can obtain one sample copy of any booklet or leaflet by either sending us an A5 stamped-addressed envelope with stamps to the value of 90p or calling our sample hotline on 09065 151436. In each case you should state clearly the titles and code numbers of the publications that you wish to receive. You should also provide a contact name and telephone number. Please note that we are unable to send out samples of posters or guides.
(Calls to the sample hotline cost £1.50 per minute from BT landlines; calls from mobiles and some other networks may be higher.)
Why is the sample hotline a premium rate phone line?
The sample hotline is there to make your life easier and provide you with a fast and efficient service in supplying you with sample publications. A member of staff has to collect the messages and fulfil the requests and the cost of their time has to be recouped alongside the cost of the postage. We believe a premium rate telephone line is the fairest way of covering this expense.
As a smaller charity, we have to charge for most of our resources. We would very much like to be able to distribute them free-of-charge but financially it is not feasible. We strive to keep our costs as reasonable as possible.
We have a wide variety of publications at varying prices. To find out about our range, visit the buying our resources section of our website. You can then either choose a resource category to see what’s available or click to download our complete resources list and accompanying order form. Prices start from as low as £7.45 for 50 leaflets.
You need to either send us a purchase order form or complete our own resources order form. You can find our order form by visiting the buying our resources section of our website. You can then either post, fax or email it to us – see the form for details. Alternatively, we can take debit and credit card orders over the telephone (020 7608 7368). Payment must accompany orders under £25.00.
My organisation doesn’t have an official purchase order system, so I don’t have a number to put on the order. Can I still order from you?
We encourage orders using official purchase orders but we understand that some organisations don’t have them. If that’s the case, we need your order to be accompanied by a letter on your organisation’s official letterhead, saying that the order has been authorised (and by whom) and giving a contact number for any queries.
At present, we don’t have the facility to take orders online. However, we are currently looking into the issue of web-purchasing with a view to being able to offer this in due course. In the meantime, we would ask you to either send us a purchase order form or complete our own resources order form. You can obtain this by visiting the buying our resources section of our website. Alternatively, we can take debit and credit card orders over the telephone (020 7608 7368). Payment must accompany orders under £25.00.
We want to buy in bulk, do we qualify for a discount?
Unfortunately, at present we are unable to routinely offer discounts for bulk purchases. However, we do run special offers from time to time. You can find out about these by joining our mailing list.
Can resources be co-branded, so that local branding sits alongside capt branding?
This option is already available as a special print run on our Accident Alert charts – visit the buying our resources section on our website. It can also be made available on other resources at the charity’s discretion and according to quantities required for which costs can be obtained.
I don’t need 50 of each leaflet, I just work with a small group of parents. Can I purchase smaller amounts?
In order to keep costs down, we are not able to routinely offer smaller amounts of leaflets. However, we can arrange for a mix of leaflets totalling 50, at our discretion. Please email Publication Sales on sales@capt.org.uk with your request.
I just want to order one guide. Can postage and packing costs be reduced for this?
Our postage and packing charge covers warehousing, picking and packing as well as despatch. Unfortunately, to cover those costs and keep our own administration costs to a minimum, it has to be set at a flat rate. However, if you are ordering just one or two guides, alternative charges may be offered at our discretion. Please email Publication Sales on
sales@capt.org.uk giving details of what you are ordering and your request.I’ve no money to buy from you, can I photocopy your leaflets?
All our publications carry our copyright and should not be photocopied without our prior consent. We will sometimes grant permission to photocopy leaflets, at our discretion, depending on circumstances. Call 020 7608 7361 with your request.

We are producing a leaflet about X in our area and would like to use the illustrations from the baby booklets, can we do this?
Unfortunately, we cannot grant permission for you to use any of our images or illustrations in publications of your own. The reason for this is that they have been used or produced under a license restricted to our use.
Do you have a leaflet on X? I can’t see anything in your catalogue
We aim to provide our customers with resources that are useful to them in their work and frequently carry out market research before developing a new resource. However, we are always pleased to have suggestions for new resources. To put forward a suggestion, email us.

I’ve found some old copies of some leaflets in a store cupboard, can I still use them?
You need to check whether the publication is still listed on our resources list by visiting the 'buying our resources’ section of our website.
If so, you need to check the publication date matches. If the print or reprint date on your leaflet is older than the date on the resources list, you should destroy the leaflet as the information in it will be out-of-date.
If your publication is not on the current resource list, it will be out-of-date and you should destroy it.
If you feel that there needs to be a resource on the topic, email your suggestion to us.
Do you produce your resources in languages other than English?
Unfortunately, we are not able to produce our resources in languages other than English unless we obtain specific funding to enable us to do so. However, we are willing to allow you to translate the information to include in your own publication as long as you use a professional translator to ensure meaning is maintained and make no reference to Child Accident Prevention Trust either in the copy or by way of using the Trust’s branding on the translated version of the published material. If you decide to do this, it would be helpful if could send us one copy of your translated resource for our information. If your organisation is unable to fund a translation, have a look at our picture-based resources. They might help you to work with people who have limited English. Go to the samples area of our website.

What is a loop version of a video?
It means that the video repeats itself, so you don’t have to keep rewinding and replaying it. The loop version is suitable for use in, for example, a clinic setting, where you have a TV playing educational videos in the background while people are waiting for their appointments.
We would like to be able to run your fancy-a-cuppa? DVD on an internal TV system – can we do this?
We do sell a loop-version of our fancy-a-cuppa? for use in clinic waiting rooms – it is currently a video rather than a DVD. However, we ask that your request is initially put in writing by email to amanda.pritchett@capt.org.uk
We find the fancy-a-cuppa? DVD really useful, are you planning to produce any more DVDs?
We would very much like to produce further DVDs on key accident prevention topics. Unfortunately, they are extremely costly to produce and we can only do it if we obtain specific funding to enable us to do so.
